What is the Confucius Cafe?
The Confucius Cafe provides a comfortable and intimate setting for students and faculty to practice Chinese and to discuss China-related topics. The Confucius Cafe is held on a weekly basis on the 11th floor of the Maccabees Building (5057 Woodward Avenue) with suggested themes and supplementary Chinese vocabulary sheets provided to help facilitate conversation. Refreshments are served and several native speakers of Chinese are generally available to help beginning, intermediate, and advanced-level speakers of Chinese.
Lectures and discussions are occasionally arranged to take place at the Confucius Cafe - click here for the Winter 2008 schedule.
If you would like to submit a proposal to make a presentation at the Confucius Cafe, please click here.
Days and times for the Confucius Cafe may vary by semester. During the Winter of 2008, the Confucius Cafe will be held on Thursdays between 12 noon and 2 PM.
We encourage all interested members of the WSU community to join us for conversation, refreshments, and a chance to foster and form new friendships!
